Position Summary:
Provide robotic clinical support to operating room staff by serving as a clinical resource. Function as unit educator, master teacher, master preceptor and central point of contact for robotic surgery. Serve as a role model to promote a positive work environment and quality patient care. Collaborate with leadership across surgical services to create and maintain a standardize robotic program. Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedure. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Detailed responsibilities:
* MISSION - Utilizes the UNM Hospitals mission to implement system changes within Surgical Services that maintain quality patient care and fiscal integrity; participates in program planning for new projects
* LEADERSHIP - Supports the goals, values, philosophies and objectives of the Hospital and maintains compliance with the standards for service excellence
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshop
* LIAISON – Act as liaison as necessary between physicians, staff, patients, families, and other departments to promote and facilitate communication, problem solving, decision-making, crisis intervention, resource utilization, and conflict management
* LEAD - Provide educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care within clinical protocols
* STANDARDS – Monitor compliance with specific objectives; ensure implementation of and compliance with standards, objectives, and operating policies and procedures; follow up with OR leadership on any concerns
* ROLE MODEL - Act as a clinical resource and role model for department personnel; demonstrate the UNMH Standards of Performance
* EDUCATE – Educate appropriate staff in the use of equipment, supplies, and instruments for robotic service; coordinates in-service training/workshops for appropriate staff
* INVENTORY – Monitors robotic inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies, preventing waste and controlling cost
* REGULATORY - Enforces regulatory standards in areas of supervision and implements in-service programs to support and comply with these standards
* LEADERSHIP – Support Operating Room strategies for effective recruitment and retention; assists with monitoring the progress of new employees throughout the orientation phase and assists in adapting the program as necessary to meet individual and unit needs; maintain an environment and culture that enables delivery of high-quality patient care
* COMMUNICATION – Establishers and maintains effective formalized communication systems for information sharing, planning and problem solving with unit staff, OR Leadership, and other departmental personnel
* COLLABORATION – Develops and maintains effective relationships with hospital departments providing robotic support services; monitors services provided and collaborates in developing methods to improve utilization and efficiency
* COMMITTEES – Participates on robotic committees; Communicates pertinent information to and from committees and/or groups to unit staff, OR leadership and other department personnel
* DATA – Track, review and analyze robotic data; Organize and report data to robotic committee, OR leadership and other designated departmental personnel

Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
