Position Summary:
Plan, direct, and manage assigned staff, programs, and activities within Radiology Services related to clinical operations, imaging quality and safety, navigation of patients through the multiple imaging screening and therapy programs, and the clinical elements of Enterprise Imaging. Partner with Ambulatory Services, Finance, Pre-Registration, Referral Access Management, Revenue Cycle Initiatives, IT, and related areas that fall within scope of responsibility. Develop programs and training, perform, outreach and problem solve within position scope. Monitors the operations to assure compliance with governmental and other regulations and meets standards established by accrediting agencies, and ensure adherence to Policies, Procedures, Guidelines, and processes. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.

Detailed responsibilities:
* PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
* SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
* COMMITTEES AND MEETINGS - Attend technical and administrative meetings; participate in committee functions; participate in hospital-wide activities and committees within the scope of this position or as directed
* PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
* LIAISON - Act as liaison between patient, family, physician, clinician, and staff
* PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
* PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
* BENCHMARKS - Establish and maintain data collection and monitor results for recurring reports. Develop reports and track compliance records
* BUDGET - Develop and administer the division's annual budget; monitor and approve expenditures
* STANDARDS - Establish specific standards and objectives for clinical departments; ensure implementation of and compliance with standards, objectives and operating policies and procedures
* QUALITY - Develop, modify and oversee quality control program. Administer quality assurance for assigned area. Maintain data on image repeat counts and inadequate/incomplete exams. Monitor data and reports required for State and National Radiology Standards
* MANAGE - Manage, coordinate and oversee technical and clinical activities and operations; identify and correct technical and clinical deficiencies

Credentials:
Essential:
* CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
* Intermediate Life Support Certification w/in 6 months
* Non RN's req NM Med Imag/Rad Thrpy Lic or Nuc Med Tech Cert
* ARRT (R) or NMTCB (CNMT) or ARDMS or RN

Physical Conditions:
Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
