Position Summary:
Register and/or admit patients to Sandoval Regional Medical Center. Obtain and enter into the system all information necessary to create a complete and accurate patient account. Ensure that appropriate and necessary notifications are made to insurance carriers or agencies. Advise, inform and assist patients before, during and after their date of service. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* RELATED DUTIES - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
* POLICIES AND PROCEDURES - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programs
* PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* TRAINING - Responsible for Orienting and training of staff
* REGULATIONS - Responsible to know HIPAA, EMTALA, State and CMS registration regulations
* PROGRAMS - Maintain knowledge of fin counseling programs
* CO-PAY - Responsible for maintaining the co-pay collection rates as set out by the department
* GUIDELINES - Responsible for creating registration and admitting guidelines
* SUPPLIES- Monitor and order supplies for ED reg
* ASSIST - Assist Supervisor as needed
* ON CALL - Serve in an on call role
* DUTIES - Responsible for all PAR duties across the span of SRMC Patient Access
* DISCIPLINE - Participate in the discipline process with the area Supervisor
* RECORDS - Timekeeping duties and scheduling
* MEETINGS - Represent Patient Access and SRMC at meetings as needed

* Obtain and maintain Notary Public w/in 6 months of hire
Physical Conditions:
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
