Position Summary:
The Respiratory Equipment Assistant ensures that all respiratory equipment and supplies are clean, functional, and readily available for patient use. This role is crucial for quickly turning around equipment, setting it up properly, and maintaining operational readiness of life support systems to support timely patient care. Responsibilities include coordinating and maintaining the inventory control system to ensure accuracy in storage, issuance, and tracking of equipment, materials, and supplies. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES - Facilitate availability of respiratory equipment and supplies to the clinical areas of the organization at UNMH Lomas Campus
* SUPPLIES - Maintain department supply of disposable and reusable equipment by means of inventory, ordering and stocking
* SYSTEMS - Maintain accurate function of life support systems by assembly, function check and troubleshooting
* VENDORS - Interact with Vendors, including obtaining quotes for supplies and equipment
* EQUIPMENT - Retrieve respiratory equipment from patient care areas, clean, set up and prepare for reuse (including ventilators, Bi-PAP, high-flow devices and oxygen delivery systems)
* EQUIPMENT - Maintain equipment PARs for clinical areas
* PROCESS - Monitor and process soiled equipment as directed

Experience working with inventory and supply process
Experience in customer service related field
Credentials:
Essential:
* CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
Physical Conditions:
Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

* Med Haz: Mod exposure to chemicals/dangerous equip/materials
* Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
