Position Summary:
Supervise the Linen department and ensure quality control in areas of responsibility. Maintain accurate inventory. Organize and oversee a variety of administrative operations and fiscal duties. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* COMMUNICATION - Ensure good working relations with all staff and customers through the implementation of communication policies within the department
* COMMUNICATION - Conduct staff meetings and one-on-one meetings; discuss operational issues, training competencies, provide feedback on employee satisfaction
* COMPLIANCE - Ensure compliance with all applicable JCAHO standards, policies and procedures; ensure compliance with HIPAA as it relates to departmental responsibilities
* CONFLICT RESOLUTION - Resolve conflicts and maintain professional group dynamics at all times
* BUDGET - Assist in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitor expenditures
* SERVICE - Ensure customer satisfaction by providing high quality service meeting or exceeding department customer service goals
* DATA ENTRY - Enter information into the computer or onto data forms and verify and check data
* DOCUMENTATION - Prepare documentation as required by the profession and the department, including but not limited to end of month and year reports, daily delivery and pickup documentation reviews. Check supply invoices and prepare for approval
* EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES - Analyze the dept needs and direct the requisitioning, sorting, labeling, storing and issuing of equipment and supplies
* IN-SERVICES - Plan and coordinate in-services for assigned staff
* LIAISON - Act as a liaison between management and department personnel; coordinate with other staff professionals, divisions and departments; meet with nurse managers to discuss and resolve problems
* LINEN - Direct and supervise the requisitioning, unloading, sorting, storing, routing, issuing and delivery of linens to all users; monitor and adjust stock level; receive new laundry supplies
* POLICIES - Follow and maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards
* PROCESS IMPROVEMENT - Advance department growth; lead process improvement efforts to streamline department activities and practices ensuring maximum efficiency and timeliest execution of rounds and deliveries
* SAFETY - Promote workplace safety throughout regular course of duties
* SUPERVISION - Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
* STANDARDS - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops

Physical Conditions:
Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
