Position Summary:
As first point of contact, ensure patients and visitors have assistance they need with wayfinding by
providing a welcoming and professional friendly face upon entrance to our facility. Act as a source of
information by knowing the hospital layout and promoting a positive image of the hospital, staff and
volunteer services. Help to maintain the appearance of the main foyers, report spills and any other health
or safety concerns promptly. Demonstrate respect and sensitivity towards the rights, beliefs and choices
of patients, visitors and staff, maintaining privacy and confidentiality at all times. This position is central
to our mission and vision of providing timely and compassionate healthcare to all New Mexicans. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* HOSPITALITY - Provide assistance at the information desks at entrances to our hospitals, offering a warm and friendly welcome to patients and visitors
* HOSPITALITY - Make the patient or visitor feel at ease by welcoming them, directing or escorting them to their desired location, offering wheelchair assistance to those who require it
* HOSPITALITY- Provide information or advice on the location of services available to patients or visitors (e.g. cafeteria, chapel, gift shop)
* PRIVACY - Adhere to Hospitals confidentiality and sensitive information procedures
* QUALITY - Assists in and contributes to any quality improvement measures identified
* SAFETY - Knowledgeable regarding public safety policies, chain of command, and the use of security when needed
* COMPLIANCE - Ensure compliance with all applicable JCAHO standards, policies and procedures; ensure compliance with HIPAA as it relates to departmental responsibilities
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
* PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
* PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk

Physical Conditions:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. May require walking or standing to a significant degree or requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or may require working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of materials is negligible.
